Dear newspapers, stop constantly writing about how this and that killer might be autistic/have aspergers. Stop making us out to be crazy. Stop saying things like that we completely lack empathy or can’t understand anyone else’s feelings. Or that we don’t have feelings.

There’s enough prejudice against us already. We’re either “crazy” or “retarded”. I’ve had teachers treat me like a small child after they’ve found out about my aspergers. I’ve listened to my “friends” talk about how creepy people with aspergers are, all while being too afraid to tell them I have it.

And I’m sick of it. Newspapers have the power to educate people, instead they make prejudices worse.

Also, stop equating violence with mental illness.  Statistically, the mentally ill are more likely to receive that than dish it out.
